This card shows a fabric painting by Marianna Lines based on an original artistic impression of the Pictish carved stone located near the village of Collessie, Fife, Scotland. In Marianna's words, the carving "profiles a young Pictish male striding forth, naked, carrying his shield and ball-weighted spear. Around the side of the stone to his right are two symbols, the arch and the Pictish beast, which identify his ancestors."
